BELLE VUE V LIONS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER head to Manchester on Monday to take on Belle Vue at the National Speedway Stadium (7.30).

The Watling JCB Lions enjoyed their best result of the season when they hosted the Aces last Monday, storming to a 58-32 success.

And while it will be an entirely different challenge this time around, with Belle Vue since picking up away victories at Somerset and Swindon, team boss Simon Stead is still keen to carry over the positives.

“We showed against them last Monday that on our day, we’re a force to be reckoned with,” Stead said.

“It doesn’t take me to tell people that it’s been a difficult year with all different riders coming and going but we want to end the season on a bit of a high.

“Last Monday was a massive step in the right direction and hopefully we can go there and give them a run for their money.

“We know that the boys are capable of and hopefully they can kick on from what was a very impressive performance last time out against Belle Vue.”

Josh Auty returns at reserve for the Lions while a late decision will be made on Charles Wright who is keen to return following recent illness.

BELLE VUE: Craig Cook, Steve Worrall, Dan Bewley, Rohan Tungate, Max Fricke, Dimitri Berge, Mark Riss.

LEICESTER: Hans Andersen, Ricky Wells, Charles Wright (TBC), Stuart Robson, Scott Nicholls, Connor Mountain, Josh Auty.
